(Fort McMurray, AB, May 2, 2017) - The organizing committee of the Fort McMurray Half Marathon would like to remind interested participants that the final day to qualify for early bird registration is May 4. The fifth annual community half marathon event hits the streets this year on Sunday, September 17. The Fort McMurray Half Marathon is a partnership between the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB) and the Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo (RRC).
The Fort McMurray Half Marathon includes a Half Marathon, 10 km, 5 km and 3 km road races and a Kid’s Fun Run presented by Inter Pipeline. Early Bird registration fees are as follows: 3km $10.00, 5km $20.00, 10km $45.00 and Half Marathon $70.00. Early Bird registration will be available until May 5, at which time regular registration fees will apply. The Kid’s Fun Run presented by Inter Pipeline remains free of charge to participants.
Online Early Bird registration for the Fort McMurray Half Marathon is now available at RRCWB.ca/events. Early Bird Registration pricing will be in effect until May 4, 2017 at 10:00 pm. Race package pickup for participants in the Fort McMurray Half Marathon will take place during the week of September 10-17. Race packages can be picked up at the Shell Place Box Office at MacDonald Island Park.
