(Fort McMurray, AB, June 2, 2017) - The inaugural Fort McMurray Flea Market will take place at MacDonald Island Park on June 10, 2017.

The new Fort McMurray Flea Market is an opportunity for vendors of used goods, owners of home-based businesses, sellers of vintage wares and creators of arts and crafts to connect with members of the community in a traditional “flea market” style event.

“Since the announcement of the new Fort McMurray Flea Market earlier this spring, we have seen tremendous positive response from the community greeting this new initiative,” said Rachel Orser, Interim Chief Executive Officer of the Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo. “We anticipate this will become a popular event this summer as community residents enjoy a new event in our community designed to bring vendors together with members of the public in the kind of flea market setting found across the country.”

The Fort McMurray Flea Market will be hosted outdoors at MacDonald Island Park from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm on June 10, July 8, August 12 and September 9.

There are still opportunities for interested vendors to register to participate in the Flea Market this summer. More information on registration and booth rental for the Fort McMurray Flea Market can be found at RRCWB.ca/events.
