(Fort McMurray, AB, June 6, 2017) - The MacDonald Island Community Art Gallery presented by Kirschner Family Corporation is pleased to welcome the QUAD HIGH Collective Student Exhibition to the Suncor Community Leisure Centre this month.

The QUAD High Collective Student Exhibition, an annual event with deep roots in the Fort McMurray community, has been celebrated for over 2 decades. Originally named the Tri High Exhibition, the event grew into the QUAD High Collective Student Exhibition with the addition of a new high school in the community. The art departments from the four high schools have now come together to showcase outstanding student artworks created during the 2016/2017 school year. The artworks include a variety of different mediums, styles and techniques, giving insights into the creative minds of our future.

“We are pleased to partner with the Fort McMurray Public School District and the Fort McMurray Catholic School District to present this exciting exhibition of student artworks to the community,” said Rachel Orser, Interim Chief Executive Officer of the Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo. “It is always a pleasure to have the opportunity to showcase the talented young artists in our region at the gallery, and we know community members will enjoy viewing and appreciating their creative results from the past school year.”

The opening reception for the QUAD High Collective Student exhibition takes place at 7:00 pm on June 8 at the MacDonald Island Community Art Gallery presented by Kirschner Family Corporation. Light refreshments will be served and all community members are invited to attend. The QUAD High Collective Student exhibition will be available for viewing until June 26.
