(Fort McMurray, February 11, 2020) - The Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo (RRC) is proud to announce that the organization has been named on the 2020 list of Best Workplaces in Retail and Hospitality.

The RRC received this honour after a thorough and independent analysis conducted by Great Place to Work®.  This is the second year the RRC has been recognized on the list of Best Workplaces™ in Retail and Hospitality, the first recognition took place in 2019.

“We are very proud of the progress made in the last 12 months with respect to our employee engagement and satisfaction,” says Graig Walsh, RRC CEO. “We have an amazing team who deliver exceptional programs and services on a daily basis at all of the facilities we operate. I am grateful and proud to be a part of this team and would like to thank and congratulate our team on this accomplishment.  As a corporation we commit to continuous improvement to make sure we continue to be an employer of choice in this region and beyond.”

The list is based on direct feedback from employees of the hundreds of organizations that were surveyed by Great Place to Work®. To be eligible for this list, organizations must be Great Place to Work Certified™ in the past year and work primarily in the Retail or Hospitality industry. Great Place to Work® determined the best based on employee responses to the Trust Index statements.

The RRC became Great Place to Work Certified™ in 2018 and continues to work with the Great Place to Work® program to enhance internal culture and employee satisfaction.

"The Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo partnered with Great Place to Work in 2018 to assess and build on their workplace culture,” says Alison Grenier, Head of Culture and Research, Great Place to Work Canada. “With targeted efforts in employee engagement and recognition, the RRC was able to increase levels of trust throughout the organization by close to 10% in 12 months, which is one of the highest increases we've seen in just one year. We congratulate the RRC for this great accomplishment.”

About the Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo:

The Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo (RRC) was created by the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB) Council in October 2012 to design, build, steward and operate several state-of-the-art community recreation, sport and event facilities and venues.
