Local Photography Exhibition “Home” Opens November 1 at the Kirschner Family Community Art Gallery
(Fort McMurray – October 25, 2021) – This fall the Kirschner Family Community Art Gallery at MacDonald Island Park is pleased to welcome Home, an exhibition featuring local photography.
Home showcases photographs of nature from the Wood Buffalo region. Crystal Mercredi, local photographer and organizer of the exhibition, said: “I love the freedom I feel when out in the wilderness of Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo, in particular when photographing with friends. From the interesting textures of the ground below to the incredible skies, there’s so much beauty, and it’s constantly changing to provide more inspiration.’
The exhibition includes works by Crystal Mercredi, Nick Vardy, Thomas Hopkins, Graham Whatmough, Greg Halinda, Ashley Hearn, Stacey Cobb and Melissa Richard.
Nick Vardy, one of the photographers showcased in the exhibition, said: “Capturing the vast north landscape, rich culture, natural beauty and to be able to share it with the world motivates me.”
Ashley Hearn, another photographer featured in the exhibition, states: “There's magic here, Northern lights to the summer sun in the night sky. It's like a love story demanding to be told.”
The Kirschner Family Community Art Gallery at MacDonald Island Park invites you to feel the magic this fall when Home opens for public viewing on November 1, 2021. The exhibition will be available for viewing until December 30, 2021.
