Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo lights up the sky on December 31 with the New Year’s Eve Fireworks presented by Syncrude
(Fort McMurray – December 13, 2021) – The Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo (RRC) is pleased to announce the annual New Year’s Eve Fireworks presented by Syncrude will take place at MacDonald Island Park on December 31, 2021 at 7:00 pm.
No registration is required to attend the New Year’s Eve Fireworks presented by Syncrude this year. All attendees are required to stay in their vehicle while attending the event. As parking spot access is limited, early arrival is recommended. On-Island spectators can also tune into 88.1 FM to enjoy the choreographed show.
For those wishing to view the fireworks from the comfort of their own home, the fireworks display will be live streamed to the MacDonald Island Park Facebook page at: www.Facebook.com/MacDonaldIsland
A variety of outdoor and indoor activities are planned at MacDonald Island Park throughout the holiday season for visitors to enjoy, including outdoor winter activities like the Walking Trails presented by Canadian Natural (now open), the skating rink under the canopy at Shell Place (now open), the Skating Path presented by United Rentals and the Cross Country Ski Trails presented by Ledcor (opening information on outdoor skating path and cross country ski trails coming soon). MacDonald Island Park, including all amenities and outdoor winter activities, will close at 6:00 pm on December 31 to accommodate the fireworks display. There will be no washroom access, food services or other amenities available for public access during this event.
