2024 Baseball Canada Cup presented by Fort McMurray 468 First Nation Economic Development finishes with Gold Medal for Team British Columbia
(Fort McMurray, AB, August 13, 2024) – The 2024 Baseball Canada Cup presented by Fort McMurray 468 First Nation Economic Development concluded on Sunday, August 11 with Team British Columbia taking home the gold medal.
In the Gold Medal game, it was Team British Columbia over Team Quebec, closing out a successful tournament and a tremendous event that celebrated top calibre national youth baseball. Team Quebec took home the Silver medal, while Team Manitoba captured the Bronze. The 2024 Baseball Canada Cup games were held at Legacy Dodge Field at Shell Place and Ross Hennigar Ball Park in Fort McMurray, and featured ten provincial teams from across the country.
“From 2016, when we hosted our first Baseball Canada event in the region, to this year, what incredible community support we have experienced in hosting elite baseball tournaments in Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo,” said Mike Mayuk 2024 Baseball Canada Cup presented by Fort McMurray 468 First Nation Economic Development organizing committee Co-Chair and President of the Fort McMurray Minor Baseball Association. “We want to thank all our community partners, our volunteers, our community members and of course all the visiting players, coaches, officials and families for joining us to make this event a success.”
The 2024 Baseball Canada Cup Organizing Committee was a partnership between the Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo (RRC) and the Fort McMurray Minor Baseball Association (FMMBA). Since 1989, the Baseball Canada Cup has attracted some of the best baseball talent from across the country.
