Oktoberfest returns to MacDonald Island Park for its fourth-year with some exciting additions

(Fort McMurray, AB – August 28, 2019) Celebrate with pretzels and pilsners at MacDonald Island Park as the community welcomes the annual Oktoberfest event on September 28. In its fourth year, the event will embrace Bavarian culture more than ever while moving the celebration outside into a large festival style tent. The one-night festivity will feature live music, German-inspired food and a variety of beer available for purchase.

“Now in its fourth year, we are excited to offer Oktoberfest outdoors for a more traditional festival experience with your closest friends,” says Kelsey Stefanizyn, Director of Events and Business Development, Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo. “Each year we have the pleasure of welcoming the community as we celebrate this world-wide event here in Fort McMurray.”

Guests at Oktoberfest will receive a commemorative stein and can participate in a stein holding competition. Attendees are also encouraged to wear their best Oktoberfest costumes. Prizes, presented by AirCon, will be awarded for best dressed and for the stein holding competition.

Tickets for Oktoberfest are available online at macdonaldisland.ca/events and in person at the Shell Place Box Office at MacDonald Island Park. Admission for Oktoberfest is $39 plus applicable fees and taxes. Please note this is an 18+ event, youth/children will not be admitted.

The Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo would like to recognize Media Partner Harvard Broadcasting, MIX 103.7 and 100.5 Cruz FM, and Prize Partner AirCon.
