Baseball Canada returns to Fort McMurray in August for 2024 Baseball Canada Cup presented by FM468FN Economic Development

(Fort McMurray, AB, May 23, 2024) – Baseball Canada is returning to Fort McMurray this summer through a partnership between the Fort McMurray Minor Baseball Association (FMMBA) and the Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo (RRC). The 2024 Baseball Canada Cup presented by FM468FN Economic Development will take place from August 7-11, 2024, at Legacy Dodge Field at MacDonald Island Park and the Ross Hennigar Park in Thickwood. Tournament pass sales will begin at 10:00 am on Friday May 24 at www.macdonaldisland.ca

Since 1989, the Baseball Canada Cup has attracted some of the best baseball talent from across the country. The national tournament serves to assist in the selection of Junior National Team players for future training camps and the National Team for the WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup, as well as providing an opportunity for scouts to evaluate future potential college and professional baseball draft picks.

Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo has hosted several Baseball Canada events, including the 2016 Baseball Canada Cup, the 2018 Baseball Canada 18-U National Championship presented by Pepsi, the 2022 Baseball Canada 18U National Championship presented by Pepsi, and the 2023 Baseball Canada 18U National Championship and 13U National Western Championship presented by Diversified Transportation Ltd.
