Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo facilities to close to the public commencing March 14

(Fort McMurray, March 13, 2020) - In correlation with the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo press conference held today and in alignment with COVID-19 preparedness, the Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo (RRC) will be closing all RRC operated facilities to the public effective March 14, 2020. This includes the operation of MacDonald Island Park, the Anzac Recreation Centre, and the Conklin Multiplex.

At this time, RRC facilities will still accommodate employees onsite and business continuity plans are being developed should that change.

“The RRC understands we all have a role to play in the prevention of COVID-19 spread within the region and the health of our members, guests and staff remains our top priority,” says Graig Walsh, RRC CEO. “We will continue to work with the appropriate authorities to ensure the correct precautionary measures are being met.”

Facilities will remain closed until further notice; more information will be provided as it is available.

More information will be shared with patrons via email or, depending on the circumstance, RRC staff will reach out directly.
