MacDonald Island Park launches new membership model

(Fort McMurray, September 23, 2019) A new way to play is now available for MacDonald Island Park members with the introduction of a tiered membership model. Guests now have the option to elevate their MIP experience with the new all-inclusive MemberPLUS+ category.

The MemberPLUS+ option provides extended access to the High-Performance Training Centre, includes unlimited fitness classes at all Island amenities, includes child minding services at the Kids Clubhouse for no additional cost and more.

“Fall is an exciting time for the Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo (RRC) and we are thrilled to start it off with some amazing new upgrades, like the new membership model, and coming soon all members will have the opportunity to skip the line and save time with a new RFID Band – Smart Scan system,” says Graig Walsh, RRC CEO. “The experience of our guests and members is important to us and we’ll continue to develop and enhance it over time to meet the needs of the community, now members can choose the membership that best suits their lifestyle”

The new membership model launch is accompanied by an assortment of facility upgrades including:

• The introduction of RFID Smart Scan Wristbands available in the coming weeks for Member and MemberPLUS+ users who have a continuous or annual membership.

• A new bright and modern space for fitness classes named The Studio located next to the entrance of Legacy Dodge Field for smart, fast and simple direct from parking lot access.

• The upgrade of the Suncor Community Leisure Centre main entrance for convenient sliding door access.

Many of the upgrades and changes implemented for Fall 2019 are based on the feedback received from the Word on the Street – Patron Engagement Survey that took place in February 2019.
