ONE Team Update - June 10, 2020
Good Afternoon ONE Team,
In follow up to my e-mail from yesterday, in regard to the Government of Alberta’s (GOA) decision that recreation centres have the option to re-open to the public effective June 12, 2020, I am pleased to share that beginning June 19, the RRC will be moving ahead with a phased plan for re-opening our facilities safely to the community. This re-opening plan currently includes amenities at MacDonald Island Park and the Anzac Recreation Centre presented by CNOOC. More information with be forthcoming with regard to Conklin Multiplex and Sonny Flett Aquatic Centre very soon.
Over the next couple of weeks, our operational plan will be focused on ramping up our operations safely and rolling out new plans as quickly as possible while ensuring we adhere to the guidelines provided by the Province. Please see the attached timeline which outlines the phased approach.
Ongoing updates to the re-opening of our facilities will be posted on our websites and can be found here: https://www.macdonaldisland.ca/reopen
The health and well-being of staff and visitors to the facilities is always our top priority. We understand staff may be feeling some excitement and nervousness, but please be assured that all recommended measures, protocols and training procedures have been put into place. If you have any questions or concerns related to the re-opening of our facilities, please reach out to hr_services@rrcwb.ca
As we resume operations, we will be issuing recalls for a number of staff to support the ramp up to full operations. Please continue to keep an eye on your email for updates and information from the RRC.
Things will most certainly look and feel different as we navigate this new experience for everyone but we are looking forward to getting back to Making a Difference in the community once again.
Stay well,
GW
