I’m reaching out today to provide an operational update as we continue to work through the RRC’s phased re-opening plan. You may be aware that we are re-launching the facilities under the guidelines provided by Stage 2 of the Alberta Government’s Re-Launch Strategy and that a date is yet to be determined by the Government for Stage 3.

In follow up to my e-mail from yesterday, in regard to the Government of Alberta’s (GOA) decision that recreation centres have the option to re-open to the public effective June 12, 2020, I am pleased to share that beginning June 19, the RRC will be moving ahead with a phased plan for re-opening our facilities safely to the community.

As you may be aware, this afternoon the Government of Alberta (GOA) announced that recreation centres in Alberta can consider re-opening of facilities effective June 12, 2020.

Good Afternoon One Team, I hope you are all doing well. I would like to address the ongoing challenges we are all experiencing with respect to the SUB and CERB Benefit programs.

During today’s meeting we reviewed our Operational Plan extending beyond April 16. With ongoing extended closures to all of the facilities we operate, there has been significant impact on our operating revenues. Our response to this is to adopt an Income Bridging Support Program to provide the RRC and our team with stability for the time being and to allow for sustained operations beyond this public health crisis.

I hope you and your families are staying safe and healthy during this time. In follow up to my email from March 23, today I’m providing an update to confirm that our current operational plan will be extended for one additional week, from April 9 to April 16. Until April 16, we will continue to see all currently scheduled Full-Time and Regular Part-Time One Team Members reporting to work.

I hope you had a restful weekend. I’d like to recognize the outstanding amount of project work that was completed last week, thank you for your continued support. In follow-up to the message I sent on March 16th, I’m pleased to report that in spite of this evolving situation, we have been able to keep consistent with our initial plan, as communicated last week.

Regarding the GOA’s decision to close all Alberta schools and daycare facilities to support prevention measures regarding the spread of COVID-19, I wanted to share with you our short-term plan for staffing for tomorrow (Monday, March 16, 2020).

First off, thank you again for your continued patience and understanding as we confirm our business continuity and staffing plans in response to COVID-19. I’ve had the opportunity to check-in with team members from all across the organization and I am personally comforted with how positive and upbeat everyone remains.
