Welcoming The Hub Family Resource Centre to MacDonald Island Park

(Fort McMurray, May 11, 2023) – The Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo (RRC) is excited to welcome a new tenant to MacDonald Island Park.

Today The Hub Family Resource Centre officially opened the doors to their new space at MacDonald Island Park, welcoming the children and families they serve and the Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo community.

“The Hub is a comprehensive family service provider in the Wood Buffalo region, and a valued new addition to the Island,” said Chantal Beaver, RRC Board of Directors member. “As we welcome The Hub, we are also excited to be part of the new Hub Village with MIP Mac’s Boutique, a dress-up centre where kids can have fun in a safe and welcoming environment.”

Providing services to the region since 2003, The Hub provides new opportunities for children and families to gather, play and connect at MacDonald Island Park.

“We are thrilled to have made MacDonald Island Park our new home,” said Samantha Simpson, executive director, The Hub Family Resource Centre. "This move enables us to provide a more inclusive and accessible space to all members of the community, whether they be accessing play programming or specialized support services."

The Hub is located in Shell Place at MacDonald Island Park. You can find more information on The Hub Family Resource Centre here: The Hub (thehubfrc.ca)
